Teacher with studentsJudie Haynes’ Grant for ESL/Bilingual Teachers

SPONSOR:

Judie Haynes, former ESL teacher, author and professional development provider, is offering a $1000 grant to an ESL/bilingual educator who teaches ELLs under difficult conditions. The money may be used to purchase materials or services from any source to improve their teaching situation. If you have any questions about the grant, please contact Michelle Land at past-president@njtesol-njbe.org.

ELIGIBILITY:

The applicant(s) must be a New Jersey ESL/bilingual teacher who is a paid member of NJTESOL/NJBE as of March 1, 2023.

DEADLINE:

All sections of the grant application must be received on or before March 15, 2025.
Proposals sent after this date will not be reviewed.

WRITING:

Teaching Experience – in 50 to 100 words or less, state your teaching experience.

Narrative – In under 500 words, please describe the condition that makes teaching difficult for you or learning difficult for your students. What materials or services would you purchase, and how would it help ameliorate the condition above?

DOCUMENT:

To be printed and scanned or photographed to upload to the end of the form. If no printer is available, the applicant may type the information into the form.
