CALL FOR POSTER SESSIONS

In-Person only – Spring Conference 2025, May 20, 21 & 22
Hyatt Regency Hotel, New Brunswick

Intersectionality:  Shaping Experiences & Creating Opportunities

NJTESOL-NJBE invites its membership to submit a Poster Session proposal for the 2025 In-Person Spring Conference. A poster session is a visual representation of a best practice, successful activity, or researched evaluation. A poster session includes, but is not limited to, a large tri-fold or poster-like display. Student work, samples, and artifacts are highly encouraged. (Please note: All posters must stand on their own as there is no wall to attach them to.)

Make a visual representation of your best practice and present it for small groups of attendees in the Poster Session area of the conference. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to present for the first time at the Spring Conference. So if you have a great idea that you would love to share with your colleagues, read the following information and click on I Accept, you then will be able to fill out the form. If you have any questions, e-mail Caia Schlessinger at conference-coordinator@njtesol-njbe.org.

With approval of their district, teachers may apply the time of the presentation to their continuing education requirement.

Each step MUST be followed.

  1. Submission: The poster session proposal deadlines are  November 17, 2024.
    • Proposals received after these dates will not be considered.
    • Poster Sessions are limited to only ONE presenter.
    • You should receive an e-mail within a week after you submit your proposal acknowledging your submission. If you do not, contact the webmaster, webmaster@njtesol-njbe.org.
  2. Notification: On or about December 16, 2024.
    • Each poster session presenter will receive an email notification as to the acceptance or non-acceptance of your presentation on or about December 17, 2024. Please watch for this email.
  3. Confirmation: Due January 5, 2025.
    • Each poster session presenter must confirm using the proposal number that they still wish to present and agree to the day scheduled for their workshop by the January 5 deadline.  The proposal number and day are listed in the acceptance letter.
    • When you confirm, you will be given the option to choose how your payment will be made: Online with a credit card, by check or PO.
    • It is imperative that you supply a personal email, rather than your school email. Your personal email will ensure that you receive communications from us as many districts have blockers set up.
  4. Poster Session Presenters’ Registration & Payment of Fees: Due by March 1. 2025.
    • Discounted poster registration fees will be given for ONE presenter per poster session.
    • The registration fee for poster presenters who attend a second or third day will receive a discount off the second and/or third day fee.
    • Poster Session Presenters must register and submit payment (online, check or approved PO) by March 1, 2025 to qualify for these fees, or incur a $40 late charge.
    • If paying with a purchase order it is your responsibility to notify your district of the deadline & late fees.  It is also your responsibility to follow up with your district so that your registration form and approved & signed  PO are MAILED together via regular mail to meet the received by March 8th deadline.   Please note that poster presenter’s registrations & payments received after the March 8th deadline run the risk of your poster session being cancelled.
We DO NOT accept them by email or fax.
    • A one year NJTESOL/NJBE membership is a gift of the organization to all paid conference poster presenters. The year membership will start when registration is processed. If you are already a current member, your membership will be extended for one year from your current expiration date.

Please follow the 4 steps

  1. Submit poster session proposal by November 17, 2024.
  2. Look for notification of acceptance around December 16, 2024.
  3. Confirm you still wish to present and the day of your presentation by January 5, 2025.
  4. Register & pay by March 1, 2025.

*Click below to acknowledge the guidelines of the presenters’ confirmation, registration & fees, dates and notification information.

We thank you in advance for your interest in participating in our conference and your diligence in completing the poster session proposal form.
