Keynote: Ayanna Cooper, EdD, is an author, part-time Howard University faculty member, advocate for culturally and linguistically diverse learners, and a U.S. Department of State English Language Specialist alumna. As a consultant her projects involve providing technical assistance internationally and to state departments of education, school districts, and nonprofit organizations. She emphasizes the importance of building the capacity of district and school leaders to develop and manage English, dual and bilingual language programs.

Keynote: Dr. Fernando Naiditch holds a PhD in Multilingual Multicultural Studies from New York University. He has been teaching for more than thirty years and has taught not only in his native Brazil and other countries in South America, but also in Europe, the Middle East and the United States. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Secondary and Special Education in the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University. Dr. Naiditch also provides extensive training and professional development to several school districts on how to address the needs of English learners, develop socially just curricula, and implement culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy.

Keynote: Dr. Denise Furlong holds an Ed.D. in Literacy Education with a concentration in educating English learners from Rutgers University. She is currently an assistant professor and the Director of Advanced Studies for Reading Specialists & ESL at Georgian Court University in New Jersey. She has over 25 years of experience in teaching multilingual learners and coaching their teachers in a variety of K-12 educational settings.
