collaborating teachersBarbara Tedesco Collaborative Partnership Award

The Barbara Tedesco Award is for an ESL/Bilingual educator and another educator (not an ESL/Bilingual educator) who have a collaborative partnership in the same district. The winners will each be given a one day free registration to the NJTESOL/NJBE Conference for either the year of the award, or the following year’s conference. (Note: Only the two teachers listed on the winning application may use the award; it is not transferable.) ELIGIBILITY:

One applicant(s) must be a New Jersey ESL/bilingual teacher who is a current member of NJTESOL/NJBE as of February 1, 2026.
The other applicant must be a collaborative partner with the New Jersey ESL/bilingual teacher and work in the same district.
(Note: Executive Board members are not eligible.)

DEADLINE:

All sections of the award application must be received on or before February 15, 2026.
Proposals sent after this date will not be reviewed.

WRITING:

(To be entered into the form below)
Teaching Experience – in 50 to 100 words or less, state your teaching experience.

Narrative – In under 750 words, please answer the following: What is your definition of a collaborative partnership? In your answer, please include the following: What do you do collectively to ensure that multilingual learners are meeting state academic content standards and developing English language proficiency? How has your collaboration positively impacted your students and/or their families?

DOCUMENT:

A copy for each applicant to be printed and scanned or photographed to upload to the end of the form. If no printer is available, the applicants may type the information into the form.
